By "complete", I mean ending up with the music recording gear you NEED to get great recordings. I am not going to push a lot of extra "goodies" that may be nice "down the road", but are NOT necessary to get excellent basic recordings. I just want to help you choose the best music recording gear and get your home recording studio up and working as quickly as possible so that you can get busy making music!

SECTION SEVEN: THIS MONTH'S ARTICLE

Realizing Your Goals with a Vision Plan

by Daylle Deanna Schwartz
© 2010 All Rights Reserved. Used By Permission

I recently wrote a book Effortless Entrepreneur with Nick Friedman and Omar Soliman, founders of College Hunks Hauling Junk. Nick and Omar put great emphasis on partying when they were in college and their fun-loving mentality is still very much alive in their Gen Y perspective on starting a successful business. Below I use them as examples of how creating a solid plan for your vision can attract your dreams. It can work as well for music as it did for junk.

Nick and Omar began their business not long after graduating from college and turned it into a million-dollar operation in its second year and its now franchised across the country. Nick and Omar created a solid VISION of what they expected, strongly believed in it and wrote it down in detail. They knew the Law of Attraction would help them realize their vision if they were very clear about the outcome of their expectations. If you plan to release a CD, manage an artist, book a tour, license music, or anything else you say you want, create a vision plan and focus on it.

Nick and Omar believe that having vision means creating what you want in your mind, then taking actions to make it real and created a vision plan, in writing. They described where they intended to be by 2013 in as many details as they could imagine and wrote it as if it happened already. It doesn't matter what part of your vision statement is realized or if it takes longer than the original timeline. What matters is to have a clear vision of where you're going.

In order to achieve what you want, you must see your desire in as many details as possible. Paint a picture of what you want in your mind, as well as on paper. Nick and Omar's Fourth Business Commandment is Start with a vision, create a strategic plan, and live by it. They emphasize you need to see, taste, feel, and embrace your vision. Most people don't have visions; they have dreams. Nick and Omar say that once you create a plan to take action on your dream, it becomes a vision.

They had a clear picture of the business they wanted to grow into. You have to believe in your vision enough to not let naysayers stop you or alter your thoughts with doubt. Nick and Omar's friends laughed when they began but their vision was focused and strong. Guess who's laughing now?!

Nick and Omar credit their visual imagery for everything that's happened to them. They say, "Our business success, book, media attention, boat, cars, and move to sunny Florida, has all resulted from our thoughts and ideas." You have the power to control yours! They put their intentions in writing to spell out their vision and held fast to the intention of making it all a reality. Visualize your desire, make a plan of action to get there and believe it will come to fruition.

Nick and Omar say, "You'll never be a success if you don't believe you already are." It's important to have a long-term vision, with increments beginning now. All decisions and actions should reflect them. They visualized their trucks driving around the country as people laughed. But now it's true and they're still only in their twenties!

When you focus on your vision, your intentions can manifest it if you think, feel and see it happening. There will be times along the way where you doubt it. Try your best to move past that by reading your vision plan until it grounds you. When your thoughts focus on the joys of getting what you desire, you can override fears and doubts. Denis Waitley said, "Achievers can almost literally taste success because they imagine their goals in such vivid detail. Setbacks only seem to add spice and favor to the final taste of victory."

Paint the pictures first in your mind. Then write down in detail what you envision happening. Use the present tense. "My CD is selling in large numbers and I have many gigs because of it" instead of "My CD WILL sell in large numbers." Write your plan as if you see it happening. When you paint the scenes in your mind and then write them down, you initiate the manifesting process. Get enthusiastic about your plan!

Before you can convince others to believe in the beauty of your dreams, you must convince yourself. Make yourself believe and when you do, get excited and live in the knowing that you have what you need. The stronger your vision plan, the stronger the support you'll get from the Law of Attraction. and were young average guys who had a vision and wrote it down. A few years later, they have a multi-million dollar franchise. You can use a vision plan to make your dreams your reality.

You can read a sample of Effortless Entrepreneur HERE and see how Nick and Omar went from buddies in 10th grade to partying in college to building a successful business here. Their suggestions can help you be successful in other areas of life too!
